Growing up in a large family and the encouragement of my parents led me toward a career in teaching.  As a high school student in Superior, Wisconsin, I volunteered in a special education classroom at a local elementary school. That experience was all that I needed to make a final decision.  I loved working with the kids and was enthralled with sign language.  My bachelor’s degree is in elementary education and master’s degree is in special education from the University of Northern Colorado.  I spent my first eight years teaching hearing impaired students.  Currently I teach first grade.
