Not only am I am Colorado native but I come from a long line of teachers. My great Aunt taught school in a one room school house in Burns Hole, Colorado and my mother currently works with adults learning English as a second language in the Aspen area. As a child I was always the teacher when playing school. Therefore it was only logical that when I went to college I would study Education. I graduated from Western State University in 1980 with a double major in Elementary Education and Recreation. For the next ten years I enjoyed raising my two children, subbing and recreating in Littleton. At that point, because my children were older, I was ready to teach full time. In 1990, with a Masters Degree in Special Education from UNC I joined the Whitman staff as the Resource teacher. I have been here ever since, enjoying the students, their families and my job!
